Nelson Elgueta has the pleasure of running a motorbike accessory and service shop in Perth, Western Australia, and leads tours in different parts of Australia. Hailing originally from Chile, he’s lived in Perth since 2007 and has operated Adventure on Store since 2020.
“We’re riders,” says Nelson. “It’s what we love doing.” When you see a passion project turn into a lifestyle and a business, it’s pretty clear where the energy comes from. While the main part of Nelson’s business is in motorcycle equipment and accessories, he clearly loves to ride — and wants to share his adventures.
Adventure on Store’s tours are gaining popularity and the word is getting out. Rides are usually 6-15 people per group, and tours have to be booked in advance since they fill up quickly. Once you get on that road (or lack thereof) you’ll see why. So, what’s it like? And what’s the shop all about? Let’s start with the tours.

Adventure on Store Motorbike Adventure Tours
“You’re gonna have a lot of fun,” says Nelson. That’s probably the first thing you should know if you’re looking to go on one of his adventure tours. These are true off-the-beaten-path tours that take you to remote parts of the country, i.e. the Outback.
These are mostly off-road rides, with minimum road riding. The goal, really, is to get out of the city, simply stop to get fuel, and keep riding until the destination is reached.
Just what you’re after can vary widely between rides. Adventure on Store offers simple one-day rides to multi-day, fully catered trips for groups. All rides have a support truck with extra gear, supplies, first aid kit, extra fuel, camping gear, and everything you’d expect a support truck to have — so you can just ride and not worry about getting a flat tire.
Riders on the tour drive their own bikes, ranging anywhere from 250 to 1290 cc’s. Nelson himself loves to ride his KTM 790, though mixes it up with various bikes depending on the trip. Riders can be anywhere from intermediate to advanced, but since the riding is mostly off-road it’s not the best bet for beginners.
After all, the rides can be quite challenging. There’s lots of sand in Western Australia, where most of Adventure on Store’s tours are held, which any rider will tell you can make for difficult terrain. The days can be long, and riders need to physically be up to the challenge.
Adventure on Store has also begun offering tours in the high country of Victoria as of 2024, which offers significantly different terrain to Western Australia — far more rocky, for example, with lots more vegetation. Riders from Western Australia who join a Victoria tour will have their bikes sent there by truck, which they’ll pick up at the starting-off point.
Highlighting the Outback in Style
For anyone who loves the open road (or off-road), one of the main goals is to get out of civilization and reconnect with nature…or simply shut off your over-busy brain for a while. Getting out to remote parts of Western Australia can certainly do that: While there are plenty of little mines, salt lakes, and even a meteor crater that makes for a frequent stop on the rides, most of what you’re seeing is untouched land and the horizon.
One destination even includes the furthest westernmost point in Western Australia, which Nelson notes is quite remote and hard to get to. But the challenge is the main point, as is seeing what few others have.
Going on a group tour is a great way to meet new people and spend a few nights away from it all. Multi-day trips may have riders spending the night at hotels or country pubs, but often riders camp in the wilderness. This is a huge draw for many, and there’s a secret: As a former chef, Nelson knows how to cook up a storm. Sitting around the campfire with a cold beer in your hand, a steak on your plate, and the stars overhead is the reset many riders crave.
Upcoming Tours
Adventure on Store is branching out of Australia — to Laos and Sri Lanka, specifically. The Laos tour is slated for the 6th to 14th of December, 2025, so get ahead of the curve and book early as slots are limited.
Laos itself has some outstanding roads to ride on, and offers a truly otherworldly environment. This is especially true for riders who’ve never experienced Southeast Asia. Think of steep mountain cliffs, bamboo forests, elephant conservation resorts, ancient megalithic sites, and more. Laos is one of the least discovered adventure riding regions in Southeast Asia, so you’ll be seeing what few have — and will come home with stories to tell.
Adventure on Store Motorbike Adventure Shop
The tours are just one part of Adventure on Store, and really represent the fun side of the business. The shop itself sells some of the best quality motorbike gear and accessories in Australia, and further repairs and refits bikes.
Simply put, if you’re in Western Australia and you enjoy your adventure riding, Adventure on Store is the end-all of shops for the gear you need. The shop provides gear for both rider and bike: Whether it’s body armour, tool kits, tyres, luggage, GPS, brakes, air filters, mirrors, and so on, they’ll have it. Nelson notes that tyres are an especially big seller, as tyres are fitted in the shop as well.
Making an exhaustive list of gear available here would be…well, exhausting, so we recommend checking out the gear specifics on the Adventure on Store home page. Accessories can be purchased online as well as in the store, since we’re living in the future.
One interesting point to note is that Adventure on Tour is the importer and distributor in both Australia and New Zealand of a luggage brand called Osah Drypak. Osah makes duffle bags and luggage for motorcycles, with a variety of color schemes and designs to fit any bike and style.
